Executive Dean's Message
Welcome to the website of Victoria
University’s Faculty of Business and Law.
The Faculty of Business and Law knows that the competition
faced by graduates has never been higher and the demands of
the employment market are changing rapidly. Our close ties
with industry give our Faculty the edge in ensuring our
courses keep ahead of these trends – and keep our students a
step ahead of the rest.
This dynamic combination of academic and hands-on learning
underpins our entire range of business education courses and
is the foundation of our research and consultancy services
offered to industry through our research centres and units.
We are particularly proud of our strengths in Accounting and
Finance, Applied Economics,
Information Systems, Law,
Management, and Hospitality, Tourism and
Marketing. Many of our academic staff are among the
leaders in these fields. This is backed up by independent
research which reveals that our teaching staff are rated the
most friendly and caring in Victoria.
We welcome students of all cultures at our Faculty’s
campuses. The Faculty has a presence at the University’s key
western region campuses: Footscray Park, Werribee, Sunbury
and St Albans. We also have a prominent profile in
Melbourne’s central business district.
Our School of Law in the centre of Melbourne's courts
precinct has received acclaim for both its outstanding
architecture and its world-class facilities, including
multi-media lecture theatres, computer laboratories and a
moot court.
Postgraduate students also enjoy state-of-the-art resources
at the
Victoria Graduate School of
Business. The newly refurbished City Flinders Campus is
based in the heart of Melbourne's central business district,
with three levels of classrooms, lecture theatres and
computer laboratories, supported by the new Learning
Commons.
Please take some time to look over our teaching and research
interests, find out what is going on in the Faculty News and
Events page and feel free to contact us with your questions.
