A COMPETITION WHERE STUDENTS SET OUT THEIR PLAN FOR A NEW BUSINESS IDEA

What is iPAB

The I Plan a Business (iPAB) Competition is for Melbourne’s Western Region students to practice their business planning skills.

The concept was developed by Victoria University and fine-tuned with the help of teachers from the Western Region of Melbourne with the aim of connecting the competition with the curriculum.

All students in high schools in the local government areas of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melton, Moonee Valley and Wyndham are eligible to enter.

Categories and Prizes

Written Entries:
  • Western Bulldogs Best Business Plan Year 10 Individual
  • National Institute of Accountants Best Business Plan Year 11 Individual
  • Victoria University Best Business Plan Year 10 Group (maximum of 6 students)
  • Deloitte Best Business Plan Year 11 Group (maximum of 6 students)
Multi Media Entries:
  • Leader Community Newspapers Best Business Plan, Multimedia (Individual student or group of students in any year)

PRIZES TO THE VALUE OF $500 WILL BE AWARDED TO THE WINNERS IN EACH CATEGORY

How your School can get involved

  1. Register your participation
  2. Register your participation by March 2010 so we can give you competition updates, advice and opportunities to network with the University and other participants. Register at ipab@vu.edu.au

  3. Submit Plans for Judging
  4. All submissions will need to be sent by email or hardcopy and received by VU by 5pm on Wednesday, 30 June 2010.

  5. Attend the Awards Ceremony
  6. The Awards winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony which will take place early August.
