Venues
The Cowen Centre has different styles of rooms available for hire at its Queen St premises.
Seminar Room
This room can hold up to 24 people. Equipment includes a data projector, overhead projector, DVD, video and TV.
It also has audio capabilities, if required.
Plenary Room
This holds up to 16 people, making it ideal for more intimate classes. There is an overhead projector, data projector, TV, DVD, video recorder and white board.
eMoot Court
This relatively new facility offers equipment including:
- six HP LCD 15” flat monitors
- a server with a 17” LCD flat screen
- a freestanding smartboard
- film and audio recording equipment
- Ringtail CaseBook software
- Ringtail CourtBook software
The eMoot Court facility is used to train judges, senior lawyers, barristers and expert witnesses, and enable them to become familiar with current technology.
Judges' Lounge
Cowen Centre visitors can relax here. The lounge has a phone, and a baby grand piano for those musically inclined.
The room can also be hired for functions such as corporate sit-down meals, cocktail
parties and book launches.
All Cowen Centre rooms are fully carpeted and air conditioned.
Catering
Our industrial-sized kitchen is suitable for internal and external catering. It features stainless steel appliances and bench tops, plus a microwave, dishwasher, and standalone fridge and freezer.

If the Cowen Centre arranges catering on your behalf, a 10 per cent surcharge will be added to the costs. Tea and coffee will be charged at $2.50 per head.
