Research Associates
The CICGR has research associates with a wide range of interests and expertise from within the Faculty of Business and Law and other Victoria University faculties. The following researchers have expertise in corporate governance, ethics, law, applied economics, business, management, hospitality and tourism, information systems, accounting and finance, science and biotechnology, psychology and marketing.

Dr Ray Elliott
Member of the Australian Psychological Society, Australian Human Resources Institute
Dr Ray Elliott has worked with the CICGR in the fields of leadership, ethics, organisational behaviour and ethics. He is a Director of
OEC and
its subsidiary, MLQ Pty
Ltd. His diverse clients at board, CEO and senior management levels come from the retail, manufacturing, armed forces, legal, medical, education, consulting and local government sectors, and have included Toyota, Pirelli, Bakers Delight, the Australian Army and law firms. He has served for seven years on the Victorian Department of Human Services’ Human Research
Ethics Committee, and in 2002-2003, founded the APS Coaching Psychology Interest Group.
Mr Bill Dee
Director of Compliance and Complaints, Advisory Services Pty Ltd
Mr Bill Dee was on the committee that drafted the Australian Standards on
corporate governance. He was also part of a CICGR team that
reviewed the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance’s compliance, and fraud and corruption control
system.
Dr Inez Dussuyer
CICGR Visiting Research Felow
Dr Inez Dussuyer has a distinguished career as a research officer most recently in the Department of Justice and Ombudsman’s Office. She has been a linkage partner in several ARC grants with
the CICGR including the “Evaluation of Crime Prevention and Community Safety”
grant won by the Victoria University
CICGR research team for 2002-2004.
Dr Jane Fu
Senior law lecturer, Deakin University
Before moving to Australia, Dr Jane Fu worked for China's parliament,
drafting civil and commercial law bills. She was also a member of the All-China Law
Society. She worked at three Australian law schools before taking up a
position at Deakin University. With qualifications
from both China and Australia, her research is focused on corporate governance in listed companies of China, and comparative corporate
governance.
Dr Maria Jean Hall
MACS
Dr Maria Jean Hall has a software engineering background. She has worked in the UK, South Africa and Australia in private enterprise, the public service and academe. Her most recent research projects include decision support in the domain of artificial intelligence and
law, evaluation of computer systems, and ethical leadership provided by the ICT professional bodies.
Dr Allan Manning
CICGR Academic Associate
Dr Allan Manning graduated with his doctorate from Victoria University in 2005. He is widely respected for his work in the insurance industry and particularly in risk management and business continuity, the areas of his doctorate. He is an experienced trainer and lecturer and has authored several books, including one
resulting from his doctoral studies: It Will Never Happen to Me! The
strategic management of crises in business.
Dr Mukti Mishra
Adjunct Fellow in the School of Management
Dr Mukti Mishra has enjoyed an illustrious career in senior managerial positions, in leading corporate houses, both in India (HPCL -
a fortune 500 company, Industrial Development Corporation) and overseas
(Kinhill Engineers and BHP Billiton). He has collaborated with federal and state governments in India in various roles, including
as an advisor to top institutions - primarily in the areas of corporate social responsibility
and corporate good governance. He is currently involved in setting up an autonomous MBA college in partnership with governments of India and
Orissa, with a focus on entrepreneurial skill development. Dr Mukti has three masters degrees, in applied economics,
public administration and business administration, and his doctorate is in the area of governance and reforms.
Dr Xinting Jia
Dr Xinting Jia is an Associate at Responsible Investment Unit of Mercer Investment Consulting. Before joining Mercer, Dr Jia worked with CICGR for five years with her research mainly focused on corporate governance. Dr Jia's Phd thesis focused on a comparative analysis of corporate governance in listed resources companies in China and Australia. She also received a contract recently from Routledge (UK) to publish a book based on her Phd thesis. Dr Jia has worked as a management consultant and in ESG research in the private sector. She also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Melbourne University and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Beijing.
