Research Associates

The CHTR has a critical mass of researchers. A total of 63 researchers from across the university are registered as CHTR associates. Of these academics 27 are currently actively engaged in externally funded projects and/or attribute their work through the Centre. The associates are listed with the CHTR active associates highlighted.

Key centre research teams include the Events team (Jago, Deery, Bergin-Seers, O’Mahony), the Small and Medium Tourism Enterprises team (Breen, Bergin-Seers, Jago), Destination Management (King, Whitelaw, Jago, Pearlman), Applied Economics (Divisekera, Fernando, Turner and Vu), Food and Wine (Deery, O’Mahony), the Cultural Tourism team (O’Mahony, Quiazon, Polonsky and Kay) and ICT team (McGrath, Sharda and Burgess).

The CHTR defines ‘research active’ in this context as those associates who have registered with the centre and who have engaged with the centre through research projects or publication alignment. It should be noted that some researchers may have aligned their research with the CHTR without the knowledge of the CHTR staff.
