Summer school 2009 / 2010

Admission to Summer School is by application only. The following should be noted in relation to applications for admission:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• The number of places in each unit for Summer School is limited so admission will be subject to vacancies
• Admission is limited to a maximum of two units of study due to the intensive nature of classes
• Preference will be given to applications from current VU students, particularly those who must repeat a unit for course progression reasons, or those who must complete only one/two units of study in order to graduate (must be clearly stated on the application form)
• External applicants will only be considered after all applications from VU students have been exhausted
• Evening classes may NOT be available for all units of study (check the timetable below)
• Any relevant pre-requisite studies must have been successfully completed
• Tutorial classes (where applicable) will be allocated by the Faculty

Applying For Admission

1. Victoria University students

Students currently enrolled with Victoria University MUST complete and submit the form below to the Faculty Office by the closing date above.

Please note students applying for subjects with pre-requisite must also provide a copy of their Academic History.

Note to Postgraduate Stduents: Summer semester 3 2010 applications for summer units BAO5525 Financial and Corporate Accounting & BAO5534 Business Finance have been extended to 11 December.

2. External Applicants (Cross Institutional)

External applicants from other Universities wishing to undertake a unit of study under cross-institutional study provisions must complete and submit the Non-Award Unit of Study Application form , along with written approval from their Course Coordinator at their home University to the Faculty Office by the closing date above.

Successful external applicants (Cross institutional) will be contacted via their nominated phone number to arrange a date and time for formal enrolment.

Successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that their Summer School enrolment is correct by checking MyVU. Any changes must be made via submission of a Unit of Study Amendment form to the relevant Faculty office by the census date above.

Withdrawing from Units of Study

• Prior to Census Date

Successful applicants who choose not to proceed with Summer School must formally request withdrawal by submitting a Unit of Study Amendment Form to the Faculty Office prior to the Summer School Census Date noted above. Please note, the form must be lodged at the Faculty office for Faculty authorisation.

• Post Census Date

Any requests for withdrawal after Census Date must be submitted on a Late (Post Census) Amendment to Unit of Study enrolment (A14) , financial penalties apply. This request will require the approval of the unit of study lecturer. Late withdrawals attract a processing fee and associated unit of study HECS/tuition fees will be incurred.

Fees

Fees are charged in accordance with the University’s 2009 Schedule of Fees and can be viewed at www.vu.edu.au/Courses/Fee_Guide/ . Successful applicants will receive a Tax Invoice either at enrolment or by mail shortly after their enrolment is confirmed. Payment of fees must be made by the due date specified on the invoice or the enrolment will be CANCELLED.

International students admitted to Summer School will be charged fees as a proportion of the 2010 semester fees for their course. See www.vu.edu.au/International/Courses_and_Fees for details.
